Obituary of STEFAN DUB

DUB, Stefan – October 21, 1919 – July 15, 2017, in his 98th year. A resident of Waterford, Ontario, after a brief illness passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Norfolk General Hospital. Stefan was born and raised in Boryslaw, Ukraine, where he taught elementary school before World War 2. He was one of four children born to the late Peter Dub and Marija Pricak and was the beloved husband of Janina Dub for over 23 years. Stefan will be forever remembered by his son Nick and wife Wanda Dub, daughter-in-law Jane Dub. Grandchildren Mike Dub Jr., Shannon Wilson and husband Nick, great granddaughter Elizabeth Mae. Step children Marek Rzatkowski and Andrzet Rzatkowski and eight grandchildren in Poland, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him. Stefan was predeceased by his son Peter (1946), wife Gertrud Anna (1998), brother Slavek (2012) and son Mike Sr. (2014). Stefan was a man of many talents and trades: Educator, Soldier, Gold Miner, Construction Worker, Carpenter, Farmer. Stefan touched many lives with his generosity and willingness to help whenever needed. His building skills and knowledge were on display wherever he went. Friends may be received at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 7-9pm. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 11am. Fr. Bohdan Mironovich officiating. Panachyda Tuesday at 7:30pm. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. The family request any memorial donations be made to Norfolk General Hospital or Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church. Stefan the Builder, the Family Man.
