My condolences on the loss Ron, and my thanks for the memories I have. My Dad was Ag Rep Roy Richards, and Dad's connections with Ron are still present in my memory. Dad has been gone for 40 years. He and Ron were both OAC grads. I can remember Dad borrowing Ron' lawn tractor and roller for our lawns. But mostly I remember that Dad bought his 1929 DeSoto from Ron. That car became my Dad's pride and joy, as he restored it mechanically and Mom sewed and rebuilt the complete interior. We kids were amazed as that dirty old vehicle roared to life in a cloud of smoke once we got it home and off the trailer.
I don't remember Ron, but his life and passing are part of the intertwined memory that I cherish.

Valentina posted a condolence

My name is Valentina, and I live right around the corner from Ron and Shirley. For the years that we've been neighbours, these two wonderful souls have been nothing but kind to my family and I.
They were always friendly with us at any moment we'd cross paths, and it was always a peaceful exchange no matter the time.
As soon as that sunshine was out, I would often see Ron and Shirley tending to their flowers, trimming the trees - being a productive team together. Always nurturing of their home with attentiveness and love - and it showed.
I remember one really hot day in the summer (a few years back) I was really struggling with cutting my grass.I was too stubborn to admit to myself that I needed to take a break or just quit- considering it would take hours to finish with a push mower.I kept pushing through though, but Ron noticed the struggle and came by without hesitation, to help finish cutting the rest of my grass.I was so genuinely thankful, relieved and moved by the gesture. He took time out of his day to be of service to another person, and that is a gift. I appreciated the consideration very much.
There were many moments between Ron, Shirley and us, that were met with peace, and simple conversation - even if for only a short while.
Shirley would offer plants, vegetables, and offer help with yard work if needed. There was always a smile somewhere in every encounter.
I truly am deeply sorry for Ron's passing.I have prayed that he is rejoicing in heaven, pain-free and surrounded by his loved ones in a long awaited reunion. I can truly envision him farming fields of gold, fully alive in glowing youth, and carrying a great big smile.
I will forever remember Ron for his considerate nature. I'll forever remember the teamwork that he shared with his wife. And the sunshine-filled days of seeing them tend to their home together.
I don't know the family personally, but I'm thankful to have shared the little moments, that were exchanged.
God bless Ron and the entire family tree.

Ron was the only cousin that I had as a child and I enjoyed visits to Villa Nova and playing with him. As a city child I liked being near our Grandfather's dairy and going to the farm to see all the animals. I miss him.

Dear Shirley,
We are truly very sorry to see Ron leave our company. The distance kept the Rice and Madan families from more frequent visitations. The few times we saw Ron in person, he was light hearted and smiling. We were inspired by his love for farming and his garden. He was a kind and gentle person. May his soul rest in peace. May the angels take him to a destination so glorious that he will forget where he came from. Thank you for the beautiful video of your life together. Shirley we are still here for you. Whatever we can do, we would love to try. May the good Lord bless!
With love and affection,
Yash, Neeta, Madhu

Ron left a lasting impression when I was very young. He was an outdoor man - the complete opposite to my father who was a business man. Ron was always kind and encouraged me to explore the farm and this different way of life. He was a handsome man and I had a crush on him...at 8 years old!!!
Rest in peace and deepest condolences to the family.
