Q: What will you never forget about Robert? A: Please accept the condolences of my wife Linda and myself for the loss of Bob. There were times when partnered on duty with Bob, on Simcoe PD, that Bob and myself just stood back to back to face whatever was coming and it always seemed to work out. Bob and I shared many life experiences. He maintained that I was never at a loss for words, which I regarded as an important compliment from a man of his calibre. We were shoulder to shoulder for 55 years of good times, and some not so good. The loss of this very close friend will never be forgotten. Our sincere condolences to family and friends, who I'm certain are having a very difficult time. We will meet again Bob, and walk the beat together once more. Dennis and Inge Leigh, and all of our family who knew Bob so well.

I met Bob when he moved to Cedarwood Village. I have been in the habit of going down to the dining room for coffee every morning usually between 7:15 and 7:30. Bob joined me almost daily during the time he lived here and we had many conversations and laughs. I enjoyed our visits. Usually he was already there when I appeared but he always got up and got my coffee for me. I told him many times that wasn't necessary as I knew he was constantly is pain, but I won't say he was stubborn but I did thank him. My biggest regret is that I did not see him Friday. My God bless him in his new journey and may his family have many good memories. Sorry I didn't get to meet all his family. Twila Cruickshank.
