Obituary of Gail Esther Charlotte Paulmert

PAULMERT, Gail Esther Charlotte Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in her 84th year. Gail was a beloved Wife, Mother, Nan, Grand Nan, and the devoted partner of Lewis Paulmert for over 63 years. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children: Calinda Simon (Brian), Connie Watts (Garry), Trina VanBelleghem, and David Paulmert (Samantha). 

Gail leaves behind a lasting legacy in her grandchildren: Nakina, Tahnee, Blaine (Kenzie), Trinity (Alex), Briar (Jesse), Chance (Rutu), Cohen, Keaton, Alexis (Chaydan), Chase (Raya), and Tye; as well as her great-grandchildren: Denver, Ryker, Mack, Brantley, Booker, Brixton, and Lenny. She is also survived by her brother, Mark LeTouzel (Janet). Gail will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Gail was the heart and matriarch of her family; a strong and resilient woman whose unwavering love and devotion shaped the lives of those around her. She took immense pride in every milestone, whether great or small, and found deep joy in the simple everyday moments shared with her loved ones. Known for her quick wit and spirited personality-which endured even in her final days.

Gail will forever remain a bright guiding light in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The Paulmert family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of the Critical Care Unit at Brantford General Hospital for their exceptional compassion and care during Gail’s final days.

Celebration of life will be held at the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, 62 Main Street N, P.O. Box 70, Waterford, ON (519-443-5332) on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  A private interment of ashes will be held in the Waterford Greenwood Cemetery.  Cremation has taken place.  If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society – Breast Cancer would be appreciated.  Personalized condolences can be made online at www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com
