Obituary of Fred Lloyd-Smith

LLOYD-SMITH – Dr. Winifred “Fred” Ann passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the age of 70.  Wife of the late Robert Showers (2024), Fred is survived by children Wes Showers (Ally) and Alana Lloyd-Smith; siblings Michael Lloyd-Smith (Martha), Wendy Lloyd-Smith, Jennifer Lloyd-Smith, Jane Lloyd-Smith (Mark Perry), Jonathan Lloyd-Smith and Timothy Lloyd-Smith (Jo); her 3 dogs, horses and many nieces, nephews and friends. Fred was known for her integrity, adventurous spirit, love of nature, and overall down to earth attitude towards life. Her forays in medicine, diving, horsemanship, and dog breeding made her many connections that she valued for a lifetime.  A celebration of life will be held at the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, 62 Main Street N, Waterford, ON (519-443-5332) on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge or helping a turtle cross the road like Fred would have done would be appreciated.  Personalized condolences can be made online at www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com
