Obituary of Chuan Yeh
YEH – Chuan passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill with family at her side on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the age of 100. Loving wife of the late Kai Chi Yeh (1993). Loving mother of Lois Huang (Hans), late Sophia Tseng (James), Charles Yeh (late Diana) and Mawlin Yeh (Jillian); grandmother to Judy Huang (Matt Jane), Karen Huang (PK Mishra), Ellen Tseng, Joanne Tseng, Patty Yeh (Chi Chen), Schelling Yeh (Connie), Alexander Yeh (Ginette), Felix Yeh (Yiming Zhu) and Elizabeth Yeh (Paul Hsieh); great grandmother to Ava Tseng-Farr, Olivia Tseng-Farr, Anthony Tseng-Farr, Isabella Chen, Logan Chen, Yvonne Yeh, Timothy Yeh, Joshua Yeh, Andrew Yeh, Tyler Yeh, Emma Yeh, Adeline Yeh, Aurelia Yeh and Theo Hsieh.
Born in Beidou town, Changhua Prefecture, Taiwan, on February 27, 1925, Chuan Chuan Yeh lived a century marked by resilience, devotion, and joy. She passed peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 100 years.
She began her education in the Japanese school system, completing elementary studies before attending an all-women’s college in Japan. While studying in Kyoto, she met her beloved husband, K. C. Yeh. After World War II, she returned to Taiwan, where they married and began their life together.
They raised two daughters and two sons, guiding them to grow into accomplished adults. Her greatest pride was her family, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a loving wife and mother.
After their children left home, she and her husband immigrated to Toronto, Canada, settling in Waterford, Ontario. There, they founded a ginseng company, Yeh Ginseng Company, becoming growers and entrepreneurs. Following her husband’s passing in 1993, she continued to manage the business on her own until 1998, demonstrating her strength and determination.
In 2000, she relocated to Mississauga, Ontario, where she began volunteer work, sorting and packaging ginseng at Great Mountain Ginseng Company. In 2011, she moved to Markham, Ontario, continuing her volunteer work until finally retiring at the age of 93.
Her later years were filled with simple pleasures: casino trips, watching tennis tournaments, savoring good food—whether her own creations or meals at restaurants—and daily walks to Tim Horton’s for her afternoon coffee.
She will be fondly remembered for her resilience, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish memories of her and her life story.
