Obituary of Brad Simon

Please share a memory of Brad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

SIMON - Bradley JamesPeacefully at home, holding on to his love Brad passed on his own terms.  Brad unfortunately lived a life of pain starting at 13 years old when he lost his hip.  The bad luck continued throughout his teen years.  He was basically full of nuts, bolts and screws holding him together.  Despite the pain, Brad lived a full life.  He worked all over the province and in Alberta and BC, and of course for Simon Construction.  He loved to hunt, fish and being anywhere up north was his favourite thing.  After 41 years, Brad had hip reconstruction surgery allowing him to sit in a chair like you were meant to do.  It was an emotional surgery allowing him the freedom to move in ways he was unable to do since he was 13.  The bad luck was not through with him yet.  He had cancer in his leg, beat it, a triple bypass, recovered, but it was not to be, Brad passed due to a combination of COPD and cancer.  This time he could not beat it, although he tried, he fought to the end.  Predeceased by his parents Bob and Joyce Simon and his brother Jim.  Brad is survived by his siblings Bob, Jeff, Denise, John, Brian and Blair and their respective spouses.  He also leaves behind his wonderful nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews whom he loved deeply.  A special shout out to Booker Bradley who we hope doesn't follow in Uncle Brad's footsteps and lives a life with no broken bones!!  Brad also leaves behind Karen, after 35 years of weathering the storms they made it through together: and Karen's mom Joan Kearse, a supportive and loving mother in law.  Thank you to the Nurses and Drs involved in Brad's journey.  A special thank you to NP Michaela Morton and Nurse Hailey for their exceptional care.  Thank you to family and friends for all your love and support, visits, calls and texts.  Brad hated funerals and had no intention of putting anyone through that.  Fly high my love ❤  Friends are invited to join the family at the Waterford Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123, 223 Nichol St W, Waterford on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, 62 Main Street N, Waterford (519-443-5332).  If you would like to remember Brad, raise a toast in his honour or donate in Brad's memory to the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice or Juravinski Cancer Centre.  Personal online condolences can be made at www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com
