Obituary of Dianne Kott

KOTT: With heavy hearts and family by her side, (Verginia) Dianne passed away peacefully at the West Haldimand General Hospital on Friday, August 21, 2026 in her 92 year.  Dianne is reunited in heaven with her husband Lawrence Melnyk (1983) and Donavon “Donnie” Kott (2015), and Dolly Dog & Jimmy Cat & other furry family.  Survived by children Laurel Camacho (Merv) and Shaunne Melnyk (Ruta); grandchildren Robert, Christopher, Kenneth, Seija and Thais; great grandson Christian; sisters Susan Travis, Barb Gardner (Jim) and Jo Ann Olin (Rollie) and their son Kevin; special mom to Sarah Beitz (Grant) and special Gramma to Abigail, Thomas, William and Brigitte; and by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by father Walter Bell (1996), mother Beatrix Maude (1982) and brother Ron Bell (2018).  Dianne proudly graduated from the RNA Program at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe '61/62.  After briefly working there she worked in several doctors offices: Dr. Peeris; Dr. Callery; Dr. Loveless; and retired from Dr. Bill Dwyer, Brantford.  Dianne loved to grow flowers and herbs; was an avid bowler; a great cook and pie maker; used her vast artistic talent for fundraiser notices/volunteered as Scout Mom; Ladies Auxiliary; Dance Mom; and Waterford Legion Ladies.  After retirement she volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital, Brantford and was a sharp euchre player with a  group of Lady Friends.  She was an avid scenic oil painter and attended informal art class with several other local Waterford Lady Artists.  Arrangements entrusted to the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, 62 Main Street N, Box 70, Waterford (519-443-5332).  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.  If desired, donations to the Waterford Historical Society, Ontario Registered Nurses Association or the Simcoe & District Humane Society would be deeply appreciated.  Personal online condolences can be made at www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com
