Obituary of Henry Welch

Please share a memory of Henry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Welch, Henry (Hank) Alexander- Surrounded by the love of family and close friends at home in Waterford, Hank passed away in his 78th year on June 22, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of Sandi (Smith) Welch of Waterford. Our life together was short, but full of adventure. Loving son-in-law of Doris Smith-Guy. Cherished brother of Graham (Leo) and sisters Grace (George) and Marguerite (Brian). Predeceased by sisters Hazel and Norma. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. After Hank left Northern Ontario, he first moved to Port Dover, and after many years was happy to be able to return to the Dover area in 1998. He enjoyed many years on the lake. When as a teacher of electronics for many years at Simcoe Composite School and later the department head of Technology Education at Waterford District High School, Hank touched the lives of many. His two great passions in life were music and hockey. In the early years, his musical talents with the popular northern Ontario band, The Rhythm Kings, filled dance halls. He played hockey into his seventies with the "Skatin' Scolors" and the Waterford Old Pros. A private interment is planned. A gathering to celebrate Hank's life will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at the Waterford Legion Branch 123 in Waterford from 1:00 - 4:00pm. Reverend Allan Burr will say a few words on behalf of the family at 2:00pm. For those wishing, donations in Hank's memory may be made to the Simcoe and District Humane Society or The Canadian Cancer Society. "There is a link death cannot sever, Love and Remembrance last forever." Arrangements entrusted to the Thompson Mott Funeral Home in Waterford 519-443-5332.
