BOWERS, Wallace (Bud); With the love of his family by his side at Norfolk General Hospital Monday July 23, 2012, of Waterford, in his 84th year. Beloved husband and friend for 50 years of Lois (Goodwin). Loving father and friend of Eric (and Patti), Gary (and Diane). Proud Papa of Wesley, Carson, Mardon; Elyse, and Elena. Fondly remembered by a special family member Debbie Iwanyzki. Dear brother of Rod. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William Wallace and Ethel Grace Bowers, brothers Wallace, Thomas, Norm, Harold, Doug, Lorimer, and sisters Helene, and Phyllis. Bud was born in Truro, Nova Scotia where he farmed until he moved to Waterford in 1966. Bud had a love for farming, and attended the Nova Scotia Agriculture College. Bud worked at the Tobacco Auction Exchange, Duomatic, and later worked at the Norfolk Board of Education, and self employed Janitorial Services. Bud was employed with City of Nanticoke as Superintendent of Cemeteries in City of Nanticoke. Bud served for many years on the Board of Waterford United Church and was Past Master of Wilson 113 Masonic Lodge. Bud and his family enjoyed spending many summers at the family cottage in his beloved Nova Scotia. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 2 pm. Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Masonic Lodge Memorial Service Wednesday 6:30 pm. Interment at Mahon Cemetery, Great Village, Nova Scotia. Donations to Down Syndrome Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Waterford United Church would be appreciated by the family.
