I am a boat nerd friend and it was suggested that I should submit my photo of Dave sitting on a bollard by the canal below Lock 1. I don't know if it is private or public. Eira Voth

Dave has been 'neighbor Dave' ever since I can remember. We moved to College St. in 1972 and I grew up as neighbors for 25 years. Then later in life (in 2005) I returned back to College St. to live with my husband....and Dave was my neighbor again. It makes me smile.....he was ageless.
He was a great neighbor. Had a love for the ships and morning coffees. He was a quiet neighbor.....but was always talkative. He will be sadly missed by myself, Richard and our dog Marty. Rest in Peace Dave.

Our thoughts go out to the family and freinds of Dave.
We have known Dave and Bernice from our mutual interest of the ships in the Welland Canal.
We shared many good times together.
Our Thursday morning breakfasts wil be missed.

We have known David and his late wife, Bernice for close to 50 years, sharing many memorable times along the Welland Canal, watching and photographing the many freighters passing. His presence will certainly be missed, but his pain and suffering from recent illnesses has ended . Two long and one short horn blast to you David - Barry & Ann Andersen & family.
