HAVILAND, Charles Vernon (Charlie)U.E.L. – At Norfolk General Hospital on Monday December 30, 2019, of Waterford formerly of Wilsonville at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Gunton). Loving father of Patty Nixon (and John Edmonds), Scot (and Laura). Proud grandpa of Curtis, Justin, Brittany (and Paul), Kyle (and Kate). Dear brother of Jean (and Gilles) Metivier and brother-in-law of Margaret Rose Gunton, Jim (and Janny) Gunton, David Gunton. Predeceased by sister Jane (and Stan) Mott, son-in-law Garry Nixon, and brother-in-law Don Gunton. Charlie was the 5th generation farmer of Braeside Farms. He was one of the founding members of the Brantford Piston Pushers Car Club in 1954. Charlie was inducted into Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2016 and Norfolk Sports Hall of Recognition in 2016. Our gratitude to home care staff, Brantford General Hospital and Norfolk General Hospital. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Friends will be received at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, on Friday January 3, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday January 4, 2020 at 11am. Pastor Ed Turner officiating. Donations to Brantford General Hospital Therapy Services or Norfolk General Hospital Complex and Palliative Care Programs would be appreciated by the family.
