CANIVET, Gregory Malcolm – It is with tremendous sadness that the family announces the passing of Greg Canivet on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, at the age of 62. Greg was a loving, kind, and gentle husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His unwavering love for his wife, Roxanne Canivet, and their 36 year marriage, was an inspiration to those around them. He was the loving father of Lisa Nydam (John), and Jeffrey Dickson (Lisa). He was the proud grandfather of Rick Nydam, Bella Nydam, Noah Nydam, Jennifer Dickson, Keith Dickson, and Alicia Dickson, as well as a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. Greg also stepped into the father figure role for his nephews, Esmonde and Evan Jamieson-Eckel. He is predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Mary Canivet, and the little brother to Ernie Canivet (Bonnie), Thom Canivet (Karen), and Jamie Canivet (Susan). Greg was greatly valued for his bottomless capacity to love, his awesome sense of humour, his faith, and his integrity. He was also well-known for his funny sayings (eg. If you’re not there, you’re here), and his mind-blowing ability to retain volumes of trivia (you wanted him on your team if a game of Trivial Pursuit was in the cards!). Greg will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was a faithful servant throughout his lifetime, and today his Father called him Home. Till we meet again… Donations to charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Entrusted to Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford. (519-443-5332)
