Please share a memory of KIMBERLY to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
DARLINGTON, Kimberly Margaret - age 62, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on January 3, 2021 at Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock after a courageous battle with cancer. Kim was born on October 15, 1958 in Simcoe, Ontario, to the late Adeline (Kozicki) and Bill Darlington. She grew up in Wyecombe and went to Valley Heights Secondary School followed by Mohawk College in Hamilton. Kim retired in 2010 from a successful career at Dofasco (ArcelorMittal) as an Executive Secretary, where she made many lifelong friends. Kim was happily married to Dave Lockstein from Courtland who was her partner in life for nearly 30 years. Kim was surrounded by a loving family and is survived by her son Kevin (Amber) Lockstein and grandchildren Gracelyn and Kaleb, her daughter Katlyn (Colin) Graham and grandchildren Marnie and David. Kim was dearly loved by her siblings and their spouses: Brenda (Tim) Gilbert; Jo-Ann (Brian) Voigt; and Scott (Shelley) Darlington. Kim will be forever missed by her nieces and nephews Mathias (Lacey, Claire and Michael) Voigt, TJ Gilbert, and Gillian and Ella Darlington. So many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins were such a big part of Kim’s life as well. After retiring, Kim and Dave moved back to Wyecombe where Kim took on the role of family event organizer. She made sure traditions were kept and family recipes were retained and shared with loved ones. She always remembered special dates and made sure they were recognized, and took the time to visit and care for sick family members. Kim continued with her and Dave’s dream of being snowbirds in Florida, where she became an avid golfer and enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine. She always welcomed family and friends to visit her there. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Southwest LHIN and Sakura House in Woodstock and Norfolk General Hospital for their compassionate care. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a private funeral service, followed by a Celebration of Kim’s life to be held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to the Sakura House would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy in Kim’s name. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford. Personal condolences and memories can be posted at www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com.
