To the entire family,,I had the privilege to work with Helen at the Norfolk County Fair and she was a dedicated, kind and supportive volunteer. She always loved the Fair and offered countless hours of her time and enjoyed every minute of it. We shall truly miss her presence and her insights. Molly McDowall

To Helens Family,
I was so shocked to see this news. Worked with Helen at the fair for many years. She had her grandsons Carter and Cole and I had grandsons Carter and Cole. We would always give each other an update on what they were all doing.. My thoughts are with everyone at this sad time.

To Pat, Wayne and the Saracuse Family.
This is a prayer I received and it hits home
MISS ME BUT LET ME GO
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little, but not for long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone;
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.
Helen may you quilt for the master, and PS don't miss that one block. I will dearly miss you

Thoughts and prayers to Helen's family...Pat and Wayne, Stephen and Angela, and all the kids. Helen certainly was a talented, gifted and kind woman. I have many fond memories of being in her company for many years from the 60's 70's and up. May the family take solace in knowing that she is watching from above. RIP Helen.

Helen was a one of a kind. Not many women I know who could run a tobacco farm, raise a family, sew her own clothes, make quilts, grow award winning gardens, cann vegetables and cook/bake to feed a small army effortlessly.
She had all the time in the world for her grand children and great grand children. She still managed to make time for her "fussy five", volunteering at the fair and her many friends. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She made everyone feel important, loved and welcomed.
She was an active grandmother taking time out to pick strawberries, collect pine cones and have a swim in the pool when the boys were young. It was one of their favorite places to visit. As they grew, Helen and Syl rarely missed a swim meet, soccer or hockey game.
Carter, Cole and I will miss her dearly.
She is smiling down on everyone, with Syl and Paul by her side. ❤

I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Helen. Helen and I first connected directly when we were planning the Stefura Family Reunion back in 2000. We managed to meet up at least a few times in person, as well as at the reunion. She made me a beautiful quilt that is still one of my most cherished keepsakes. We were email buddies and seemed to have this funny connection - if she didn't hear from me for awhile - just as I was going to reach out - she beat me to it. And it worked the other way. She cheered me on through life's trials and tribulations and I loved to hear what was on the menu for big family gatherings and all the rest. I kept up with her grandkids through her. She was always positive and upbeat until the passing of Paul when her deep sadness and grief showed. I will very much miss Helen.

Pat, I was so sorry to hear the sad news on the passing of your Mom. Although I’ve known her ‘forever’, it was a pleasure to get to know her better during our time at quilt guild meetings. I’ve thought of her often during the past year when meetings were cancelled. I will remember her for her friendliness, her talent and her matter-of-fact outlooks. She was just a lovely person inside and out. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Debra (Halyk) Featherstone

To say you were one of the greatest would be an understatement. We have all been SO blessed to have a Gramma and Great Gramma like you. We will cherish your memory forever. We admired your kindness, love, devotion to your family and amazing sense of humour. Your talents were endless (quilting, sewing, gardening, baking, cooking). The peanut butter cookies were hot out of the oven every visit and the kids looked forward to your hot chocolate which always had a massive scoop of ice cream! We loved sitting around your kitchen table catching up on life. Everyone loved Gramma's house! You are loved by so many and will be missed beyond words. Love you Gramma!!
