KNIGHT, Ralph Basil; In his 78th year, quietly passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday August 13, 2013. Dearly loved husband and very best friend of Catharine Wilma (Campbell) for 53 wonderful years. Very proud and dear father of Donald Knight and Christine and Gerald Kalis. Extremely proud grandfather of Elannda, Jordanna and Alex Kalis; they were his shining stars. Dearest brother of Clair and the late Lillian Knight, Bruce and Jeanne Knight and Muriel and Gord Smith. Will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Leapha Knight who farmed at Burtch before him. Ralph lived and farmed at Burtch his entire life and enjoyed being a Dairy Farmer and then later having a small beef herd and being around cattle and all his cattle farm friends. He will be greatly missed by his dogs Lucy and Tucker. Ralph's outgoing and contagious personality will be remembered by family and friends. Every Monday was a special day for Ralph to attend Hagersville Auction Centre to chat and visit with his farm friends. Ralph was a Past President of The Holstein Club of Brant County and of the Burtch Community Centre. He spent many years travelling in the farm country meeting farmers working for Quality Seeds. He was also a part-time milk tester for D.H.I. A private family service will be held. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford 519-443-5332.
