I would like to share a little about my dear sweet sister, Polly, who has been called away to join her loved ones in heaven.
Apolonia, at the tender age of 4 arrived from Poland with her mother, Weronika Moskal reuniting with Dad Marcin at Quebec City, on July 14, 1929. To her family, Apolonia was Polcia, or Polly and friends knew her as Pauline. Whatever you knew her by, she was a caring, generous, loving person always doing for others and cherished by all.
The Moskals settled in Norfolk County’s tobacco area, eventually building a home in Delhi. Our sister, Joanne was born in 1937, and Polly became the baby sitter when needed. Our parents worked at whatever job they could find and eventually managed to buy a farm on the Cherry Valley Road in Waterford.
Polly met John, the love of her life at a picnic, courted, married and shared almost 70 years together, raising their wonderful family: Raymond, Larry, Joseph and Eva. Thus their legacy began. And that is another story as you can read in Polly’s obituary. Their 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great -grandchildren are a wonderful example of what true love can bring forth. Daughter, Eva, sadly predeceased her mother.
They grew various crops, had livestock and managed a good life with hard work. Side by side, they worked to plant, harvest and sell the crops they had in order to provide a good life for their family; and they did ….no matter the weather or illness. As children grew, everyone worked to help out. A great way to raise responsible citizens. Religion played an important role in their lives. Polly belonged to St. Bernard’s Catholic Woman’s League and everyone went to church. Sunday was family day, and many delicious meals were enjoyed by anyone who dropped by. I can remember the happy times with Stan or Al playing the accordion and family doing the polka anywhere they could find room; laughing and singing to the familiar tunes.
You have earned eternal rest; Polly I will cherish all of our memories and hold them close in my heart.

Remembering all of our family get-togethers at your place surrounded with the best food and company! Sarah, Michael and I loved hiding all of the chocolate eggs at Easter time and pretending we were the Easter bunny hunting them - you didn't love it so much when you found those chocolate eggs in the couch cushions in May! Love you Babcia XO
