VIDOVIC, Ernest - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest (Ernie) Josef Vidovic on December 28, 2021, at 91 years of age. Lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Susanna for 65 years, loving father to son Ernie and his wife Elisabeth and loving Opa to Madison and Nigel and the highlight of his life, great grandfather to Kylie. Ernest was a Professional Engineer who immigrated from Austria in 1951. He built his own home in Ancaster where he resided for 56 years before moving to Waterford in 2015. He worked for many years at Westinghouse and went on to form his own successful company known as Static Power Technology Inc. He designed part of the motor for the first Lunar Rover on the moon. He also saved the showpiece of the Montreal Olympics in 1976 by repairing the largest of its kind video lightboard in Olympic stadium prior to opening ceremonies. He retired at 59 years of age and went on to enjoy a full retired life. He leaves a huge void in our lives, and we miss him dearly. He cared deeply about his family. Thanks to the nursing staff, especially Sue, and PSW's on the 2nd floor of Anson Place who showed true compassion and care towards my father, and to Dr Drijjber who facilitated palliative care. Rest peacefully Dad, the struggle is over. Death has no power over love. We love you and you will live on in our hearts. Cremation has taken place. At Ernest's request there will be no memorial or funeral service.
