I have many great memories of time spent with the Lefler family. Heather and I were great friends growing up. The friendship between my brother and Sherwood endured, and today their families are close friends. Heidi was friends with my sister. Many evenings of kick the can, and baseball in the side yard, riding bikes, swimming in the river or the pond, skating on Nelles pond, church gatherings, having supper at one another’s homes, admiring Mr. Lefler’s gorgeous orchids, climbing trees and playing tag in the yard, we had good times, all of us hanging around together! Mrs. Lefler always excited to see anyone who happened by, so friendly and always full of joy; Mr. Lefler, a rock of stability, together, they made their home a place of peace. Indeed, a soft-spoken gentle kind and humble man who loved his family with everything within him. He also had a loving heart and respect for all humanity and nature. He spoke with intention, and his smile and laugh were lovely to see and hear. The memorial video is a beautiful tribute to his life, as family is what mattered most to him. I offer my deep condolences to all of the Lefler family with much love and compassion, and hope my reflections bring you a sparkle of comfort as well. Being a life time friend of Heather’s I got to witness first hand what a wonderful husband, father and grandfather Mr. Lefler was. His faith shone through whatever he did. My condolences to all the family.
