ELLIOTT, Donald Howard – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Don on Tuesday April 5, 2022, in his 81st year. Loving and much-loved husband to Patricia (Newton). Treasured father to Regan (and Jamie), Heather (and Diego), Sandee (and Jerrod). Don always enjoyed his visits with his grandchildren, Breanna, Blake, Meghan, Ryan, Kairos, Xyla, Ella, and Emma. Don shared many memories and good times with his siblings Jack (and Kathy), Roger (and Dianne). He shared numerous laughs with his extended family, John MacPherson (and Barb), Al Gretzky, Joe Gourley (and Wendy), Joe Van Sickle, Donna Newton, Rick (and Kathy) Newton. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Margaret & Wilton Elliott, sons Daryl, and Daryn, sister Shirley (and Ron) Graham, sisters-in-law Evelyn MacPherson, Marylin Gretzky, Jo-Ann Gourley, Bonnie Van Sickle, and brother-in-law Jim Newton. Don was delighted to make his way back to Norfolk and making Waterford home. Don took great pride of his 46 years in the insurance and financial industry, starting with MetLife and retiring from Sunlife, making many lifelong friends. Don dedicated much of his spare time as a Freemason of Wilson Lodge 113. Don was a member of Waterford United Church. He was actively involved with the Canadian Blood Donors Society, both as a volunteer and donor. Many thanks to the quick and caring ambulance service and Norfolk General Hospital and the loving and caring staff of Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington. Family and friends will be received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Sunday April 10, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9m. A Masonic Lodge Service will be held in the funeral home chapel Sunday April 10, 2022, at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday April 11, 2022, at 11am.
