Obituary of VEDA AILEEN VANGALEN

VanGALEN, Veda Aileen (nee: Bowman) 1937-2022  It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Veda at the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday November 2, 2022 of Waterford in her 86^th year.  Beloved wife and best friend of Tony VanGalen of 48 years.  Veda was born June 17, 1937, the oldest of 2 daughters to Cecil (1988) and Mary Hughes (1996) Bowman.  Survived by her sister Verla Kelly of Granton.  Survived by many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws and “Special Aunt” to many nieces and nephews from both Canada and Netherlands.  Veda was an educator for 35 years throughout London and Norfolk County area before she retired in 1990.  The family would like to express a special thank you to the dedicated doctor and nurses at Brantford General Hospital for the passionate care.  Family and friends will be received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Saturday November 5, 2022 from 10 until service time at 11am.  Deacon Andy Alway officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Charity of your choice would be appreciated. .
