Obituary of PENNY JILL MacCORMACK

MacCORMACK, Penny Jill (nee: Lewis) – It is with a heavy heart the family shares the passing of Penny.  An amazing wife, mother, teacher, coach, and scout leader.  A true lover of nature, animals, and kayaking.  After 3.5 years and 87 rounds of chemo, Penny is now at peace in a happier place.  Loving wife for 27 years to Paul.  Devoted mother to Jacquie MacCormack (and Justin Vanpaassen), and Brian.  Dear sister and sister-in-law to Peggy Peach (and Greg), Tom (and Christine) Lewis, Ken (and Brenda) Lewis, Heather (and Bill) Campbell, and Mark MacCormack.  Loved daughter-in-law of Dan and Colleen MacCormack.  Penny will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  Predeceased by parents Bill and Patricia Lewis.  The family would like to thank Norfolk General Hospital 4^th floor staff, Dr. Sinkowski, Dr. Evans, all the staff at Juravinski and Cancer Centre Hospital for all their care and compassion.  With all the treatments Penny endured, she formed a special and loving relationship with Dr. John Goffin and nurse Cheryl Reid.  Following Penny’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced later.  Penny participated in the first two Annual Triathlon’s through Juravinski Cancer Centre, and this year on May 27^th, Penny’s family and friends will be participating in memory of her.  Because of her passion for this triathlon donations may be made in Penny’s memory at hamiltonhealth.ca/tri4acure
