Obituary of LAWRENCE HALYK

HAYLK, Lawrence – Passed away with his wife by his side on Sunday September 10, 2023, of Waterford, at the age of 91.  Beloved husband for 69 years to Olga (Brazina).  Loving father of Larry (and Lidia), Randy (and Judy).  Much loved Gigi of Ben (and Meagan), James (and Kerri), Mike (and Gunnie), Meghan (and Davis), Alycia (and Brayden), and great granddaughter Nicola.  Dear brother of Ken, Andy, Sam, Walter, and Myris Carpenter.  Lawrence will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  Predeceased by sister Rose Swiderovich, brothers Bill, Alex, Edward, Sid, Peter, Charles, and Irving.  Lawrence was an avid angler and was known by his fishing friends as the Admiral of Youges Creek.  He was a good golfer, but his main passion and talent of the game was finding lost golf balls.  Family and friends will be received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Thursday September 21, 2023, from 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday September 22, 2023, at 11am.  Father Wasyl Makarenko officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to your favourite charity.
