Jill and family,
We were so sorry to hear the news of your dad’s passing. I had planned to attend the visitation but only found out about the arrangements once they passed. I recall meeting your dad at your retirement party in Waterdown and had met your parents over the many years we worked together at Ryerson Public School. Kind, giving, funny, solid - your dad was a true family man! He will me missed tremendously. Sending you love and many hugs ❤️❤️❤️

Rick and I send our condolences to Joy and all the family. I have such wonderful memories of Hugh. I worked along side Hugh and Joy for many years in the apple orchard. So many laughs we shared. He was the nicest man ever. I love both Hugh and Joy very much. He will be missed. RIP Hugh

Auntie Joy, Judi, Jill and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Hugh's passing. He was such a wonderful person. His wit, jokes, sarcasm and absolute fun nature will be so missed. We have many wonderful memories in the orchards, and many "nicknames" that Uncle Hugh often used for us. We are sure he will be missed by many. Thinking of you and and our whole family sends our love.

I am so very sorry and saddened to hear of Hugh’s passing. I’ve so many fond memories of the Burtch family when we were neighbours in Boston. He was always so kind and welcoming and grew the most delicious peaches! I think of him working hard either in the orchard or in the barn. Joy, in recent years it was always a pleasure running into the two of you. I’m sorry I’m unable to attend the visitation but please accept my very deep condolences.

Dear Aunt Joy, Judi, Jill & Families,
David and I offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you all. We know all too well what you’re going through and just how difficult a time it is for each and every one of you. We’re certain that Uncle Hugh is at peace now though and has landed in a very happy and welcoming place.
Uncle Hugh enjoyed a wonderfully full and happy life filled with the love and presence of family. Be grateful for the privilege of having had him in your lives, and the lives of your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for as many years as you did. Some of us were not that fortunate.
As you move forward, take as much comfort as possible in the support of family and friends and the MANY wonderful and precious memories you have and hold so dearly in the treasure chest of your hearts.
David himself has some extremely fond memories of Uncle Hugh and all the times he spent with the family at the farm as a young boy.
Just know that we understand and share your grief and are thinking of you all with very heavy hearts.
With Our Sincerest Sympathy & Love,
David & Sandra Burtch

Our deepest sympathy to Hugh's family. We had the pleasure of Hugh's presence for many years at Oakland United then Oakland Scotland Community Church. Hugh was a strong, dependable member, always willing to help in any way and always doing so with a smile and friendly manner; a true gentleman. His gracious spirit will be remembered and truly missed.
