Obituary of RENE MORALES

MORALES, Rene

June 8, 1949 – February 20, 2024

Peacefully at his home with family by his side, at age 74. Survived by his children: Ruth Cortez (Luis); Jilma Salmeron (Edwind; Felicita Morles; Oscar Morales; Dolores Guevara;  Cruz Guevara; Fatima Escobar; Jennifer Morales; Mary Morales and Moises Morales. Predeceased by his son Antonio Morales. Lovingly remembered by his several grandchildren. Dear brother of Felicita Morales and Roberto Ventura and Leoncio Marales. Rene immigrated to Canada and had a pocket full of dreams though he dedicated his life to trying to give his kids and grandkids a good life. Those dreams were fulfilled through his kids and grandchildren. He always said he felt so proud and blessed to be able to see his grandkids grow and accomplish their big goals. He opened his doors to newcomers from El Salvador and quietly was a father figure to them all. He was a man of many trades, your go to person if your toaster stopped working or your car made a funny noise, he always had a solution. Even though he was man of very few words he always displayed through his actions the immense love he had for his family. Always in our hearts. Papito/Abuelito/Don Rene this world will never be the same without you. You made a lasting impact on us all. Visitation will be held at the Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jeronimo Merino officiating. Interment Waterford Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Margetts, Dr. Savaterri, Nurse Suzanne and the rest of the health care team for the support and exceptional care of our father.  Special thanks are extended to the people of Iglesia de Cristo Misionera Church and Pastor Jeronimo Merino for their love and support.
