Obituary of KARL HANKAI
HANKAI, Karl – With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Karl at Brantford General Hospital on Monday July 8, 2024, of Waterford at the age of 77. Lovingly remembered and missed by his wife the love of his life Nancy. Loving father to Kim (and Steve) Parker, Rachel, Ben (and Kelly), Velvet (and Brent Neumark), and loving stepfather to Damien (and Maryellen), Brandon (and Barb), and Courtland Boyes. Proud grandpa of Jacob, Callum, Finley Hankai; Sophia Told; Austin, Jackson Neumark; Bryce, Josh, Jacob Boyce. Brother to Peter, Zoli (and Mary-Ann) Hankai. Brother-in-law to Rick (and Kathy) Huffman. Karl is survived by and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Edith Hankai, and sister Klara. Karl was an avid curler and curled for the Beeton curling club for many years. He loved to play euchre, as long as he won. He loved to travel and was up for any adventure. Anyone who knew him loved to hear him tell those stories of his adventures, and his life. Karl lived life to the fullest with a smile on his face and a glass of wine in his hand. A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Norview Lodge for their kind and compassionate care and an immense thank you to those who touched our lives supporting Karl, the Alzheimer’s Society, and the Community Paramedic Program. A Celebration of life will be held at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford, Saturday August 3, 2024, with visitation starting at 11am until service time at 1pm. Rev. Allan Burr officiating. A Celebration of life will be held at The Beeton Rotary Hall on Sunday September 29, 2024, from 1-4pm. Please join us for a drink, some food and memories.
