Obituary of YUI MING LIU
Liu, Yui Ming August 9, 1932 - September 14,2O24 The Lord has called home his son, Yui Ming Liu,92 of Waterford. Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14,2024, at 3:00 am, at Norfolk General Hospital after 5 long months of illness, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. A native man of Guangdong, China, he lived there until he was l8 years of age, then moved to Hong Kong and reside until 1985. Growing up he was a hard-working man, he worked at a local restaurant as a waiter and then was eventually promoted to management for over 20-30 years. In his later years, after his marriage to his loving wife, he decided to switch to a different career that would pay better in supporting his family. In the year 1978, Yui Ming and his wife decided to rent a piece of farmland to grow Chinese vegetables, and happily work alongside each other for over I I years in Hong Kong. ln the year of 1985, Yui Ming and his wife decided to move to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to give his two beautiful children a better life and education. He moved to Canada with the support of his brother's loaning him a lump sum of money to purchase a Farmland here in Milton, Ontario for 3 years and then eventually finally resided in Waterford, Ontario until he was 90 years old when he officially retired from farming but continue to reside in Waterford after his retirement. Most people who know him well would say he was a kind, smart, hand worker and funny at times type of man. He was an amazing husband, who he loved for over 50 years, his wife Chun To Yip, and had two beautiful children, Yee Ling Allyson Liu and Chi Hang Johnny Liu. He was a wonderful grandfather to his three grandchildren, Ethan, Natalie. and Zoey Liu. During his 92 years, he had seen a lot but the one thing he cherished most in his whole life was worked extremely hard to support his loved ones by providing unconditional love and full support to his children and grandchildren with all his heart! During his long life, the most cherished memory I would say, would be his love of the outdoors and sports, where he would share with his grandson (Ethan) by attending all his sporting events regardless how busy he was with his work at the farm, and he continued to attend during his retirement until illness. Toward the end of his life before his admission to the hospital, he lives his life for his wife, children and grandchildren, by spending quality time with each other in making unconditional wonderful memory where we would hold dearly in our hearts. He's not known to be the type of man who would show his love for his wife for 50 years on display but by his little gestures and actions he hopes his wife would forever remember his love he had for her was an everlasting love. He cherished every moment he got to take his wife on these mini adventures and coffee dates until he was no longer able to give his sudden illness towards the end. On April 17, 2024, it was the start of the never changed in his life where he was no longer able to enjoy moments like before his sudden illness with pneumonia. During the last 5-7 months it was extremely hard, overwhelming with sadness, but with little moments of joy and hope for his loving family, where he shown incredible strength and determination in recovering from his illness but unfortunately the pneumonia was too much for his body to handle where he peacefully passed away in his sleep. The family wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the friends, family, nurses and staff at St. Joesph Hospital and Norfolk General Hospital who help care for him during his time in need May peace and love surround his family as they mourn his loss and rejoice in his life, Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation on Wednesday, September 25 at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home at two different times: from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:oo pm. Followed by the Mass Thursday, September 26, 2024, from I I :00 a.m. to I2:00 noon, the funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church.
