Obituary of SUSANNA VIDOVIC
Please share a memory of SUSANNA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In Loving Memory of Susanna Vidovic (nee Grum) (1937-2024)With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susanna "Sue" Vidovic on September 22, 2024, at the age of 87. Beloved mother to Ernie and Elisabeth, cherished Oma to her grandchildren Madison (James) and Nigel (Allie), and proud great-grandmother to Kylie and her soon-to-be-born cousin. We will forever hold her dear, along with the invaluable lessons she imparted. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and eagerly awaited the arrival of her newest great granddaughter, who brought her such joy in anticipation. Born in Romania, Susanna immigrated to Canada from Austria in 1951, where she built a life of love and dedication to her family. Known for her warm heart, bright smile, and her remarkable gift of making everyone feel cherished, Susanna’s generosity knew no bounds. Her kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was devoted to her husband, Ernest, to whom she was married for 65 years until his passing in December 2021. She missed him deeply every day thereafter. Susanna was a pillar of strength and compassion, always putting others before herself. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Whether it was a cozy family gathering, a shared puzzle, a thrilling game of Rummy, or a quiet moment with a book, her home radiated warmth, comfort, and laughter. Her nurturing spirit and steadfast love will continue to shine through those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. We are especially grateful for the extraordinary care Susanna received from her daughter-in-law, Elisabeth, whose unwavering love brought comfort during her final days. Elisabeth’s devotion was a source of peace not only for Susanna but for all of us who witnessed her selfless compassion. Elisabeth’s care will forever stand as a testament to the beautiful bond and love they shared. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Stedman’s Hospice, particularly Tara, for their gentle care, and to the Cancer Support Community, whose guidance and support helped make Susanna’s final months as smooth and peaceful as possible. At Susanna’s request, there will be no formal funeral. Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of Susanna and Ernest’s lives will be held with close family. We will continue to honor the memory of an extraordinary woman who fought a courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. In this journey, goodbye is just a pause. The ones we love are never far from our hearts. Those we love don’t go away; they live within us every day.
