Obituary of ROXANNE CALVET CANIVET
Roxanne Calvet Canivet – It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Roxanne Calvet Canivet announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 70, in the home she loved so dearly. Roxanne’s warm spirit, boundless love, and deep faith have touched all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and community. Roxanne was the loving mother of Lisa Nydam (John) and Jeffrey Dickson (Lisa), and the proud Nana to her cherished grandchildren, Rick Nydam, Bella Nydam, Noah Nydam, Jennifer Dickson, Keith Dickson, and Alicia Dickson. She was a Great-Nana to 8 great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. Roxanne was also the loving little sister to Joyce Kerschbaum, and adoring Aunt to Judi Zachar, Susy Pfeffer, and Esmonde and Evan Jamieson-Eckel. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Greg Canivet, and by her parents, Esmonde and Gladys Jamieson, as well as her siblings, Jeffrey and Gail Jamieson.
Roxanne’s life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and service. She was known for her warm, inviting home where family gatherings were always filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her legendary Sunday dinners and Christmas baking. Her dedication to her family was evident in every moment of her life. Roxanne could often be found cheering on her loved ones at sporting events, musical performances, and academic ceremonies – always with an enthusiasm and pride that was unmatched. Her great sense of humour and her ability to light up a room with her laughter were traits that will never be forgotten.
Roxanne’s life reflected the strength of her faith, her commitment to those she loved, and her capacity to give and care for others. She had an unwavering Christian faith, which she shared openly with others, and she remained a steadfast servant of the Lord throughout her life. As both a retired nurse and Minister, Roxanne was a tireless advocate for those in need, offering comfort, support, and prayers to all who crossed her path. When the time came for her Father to call her Home, she took that final leap of faith, and joined her Saviour. Roxanne will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her presence was a blessing and her love and devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
A Celebration of Roxanne’s life will be held on Saturday November 30, 2024 at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford at 11am. Rev. Phil Noll officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Norfolk Community Hospice or charity of your choice.
