SARACUSE, George Wm. - Peacefully in his 84th year at the Norfolk General Hospital, April 30, 2006. Loving husband for 57 years to Pauline (nee Smith), father of: Elwood (Annette), Carma, Lawrence (June), and Jeffery (Sheryl); grandfather of: Joshua and Janine Beerepoot, Tara and Taylor Saracuse, and Jacquelyn and Skyler Saracuse; brother to Sylvester; pre-deceased by parents Bill and Annie, and sister Eleanor. Born 1922 in Hamilton. Business life included Villa Nova General Store, Hotel Saracuse in Waterford, and Saracuse Pools. George was highly active in local community, including Warden of Trinity Anglican Church, Past President Waterford Lions Club, chaired Waterford Bluegrass Festival; also countless fund raising efforts, including Norfolk General Hospital Nursing Home and St. Monica�s House. Over 45 years of Lions Club service culminated with honor of being named a Melvin Jones Fellow in 1994. George was also President and Board Chairman of Ontario Hotel and Motel Association, and President of Brotherhood of Anglican Churchman (BAC) in Waterford and for Diocese of Huron, Past President of Norfolk Childrens� Aid Society and (former) Norfolk Chamber of Commerce. Even more memorable and precious than his endless contributions to the community was his love and commitment to his family, neighbors, and friends. George carried enormous fortitude, strength and faith, while his underlying kindness, tenderness and soft touch on the dance floor left countless people feeling the depth of his love and loyalty for people and family. Please join his family at visitations at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME in Waterford on Tuesday May 2 at 2-4 p.m. or 7-9 p.m., with 6:30 p.m. Lions Club memorial service. The funeral service will be held at the SIMCOE TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
