Obituary of Grant Swanton

SWANTON, Grant Allan- Surrounded by his loving family, was called home to be with his Lord on Monday July 17, 2006 in his 79th year. Following a brief, courageous battle with cancer, he leaves behind his dear wife and best friend of 55 years, Mildred (nee Holroyd) of Waterford. Loving father of Roger Swanton of Waterford and friend Patsy, Robin Swanton and wife Cathy of London and Cindy Schweyer and husband Robert of Jarvis. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Breann, Vicki; Jesse, Carolyn, Christopher, Todd; Sarah and Matthew. Great grandpa of Madison, Sydney and Ava. Grant is also survived by his brother-in-law, Selwyn Holroyd of Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents, Willis and Clarinda Swanton. Grant will be sadly missed by many cousins, neighbours, camping friends and members of the Waterford Baptist Church family of which he was a long time, active member. Grant was a former employee of Massey Ferguson, Brantford and the Army Camp, Hagersville. Relatives and friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday at 11am. Rev. Ralph Hamminga officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Waterford Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
