Many people, but perhaps not all, are blessed to have someone very special in their lives. Someone who is so special in fact, that the very thought of him, not just his physical presence, brings a sense of well-being and quiet joy. For me, Uncle Don has been just such a �special person.� Perhaps it is because we first met when I was a babe in arms and he a young, impressionable lad of seventeen. I don�t remember that time when he lived with us in Waterford, but I know from countless stories, that he was good to me, playful, gentle and loving, endlessly patient. And when I visited him 57 years later, those timeless qualities had not changed�the mischievous grin, the playful humour and sly wink, the gentle and loving spirit�still there, still warming my heart and reminding me that I am among the very blessed who have had someone truly special in my life.
