VANDERLEE, ADRIAN GERRY of Waterford passed away peacefully in his 75th year at home on July 16, 2007, surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Tena for more than 50 years, cherished and dedicated Dad and Opa of Jenny and Les Stys and their children Jason (Michelle), Shawn and Julie, Karen and Terry Shillington and their children Brett and Trevor, Diana and Mike Trembley and their children Brook, Chad and Mitchell, Theo and Laurie Vanderlee and their children Adrienne, Clark and Kaitlyn, and Gerry and Kelly Vanderlee and their children Ashley, Michelle, Jessica, Rachael and Charlotte. He is survived by his sister Nel and his brothers John, Thys and Anton all of Holland and predeceased by his brother Joop of Australia. He immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1954 and was joined shortly thereafter by Tena. They settled down in Norfolk County where he is well known for his strong work ethic and building many quality homes. Adrian was a man of strong faith who served his church, family and community with devotion. He spent many hours volunteering at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church and also as a volunteer driver for Senior Support Services. He enjoyed life, especially gardening, birds, Saturday Night Hockey and a challenging game of pool with his faithful friend Cees. He will be missed by family, friends and neighbours. Friends are invited to share their memories of Adrian at the Thompson-Mott Funeral Home in Waterford on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com). Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Waterford followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Waterford. Parish prayers will be held at the Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Waterford's Camp Trillium.
