Dear Ian and Allison: I am saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. It has been a long, long time since last seeing her (I've been here on the Coast since '85), but I have many vivid memories from the '60's and 70's, which will live on in me: helping me find books and articles at the Waterford Public Library, demonstrating her looms and weaving machines and selling me one of her fabulous ponchos, fretting (just a bit) about what might be going on in "The Upper Room" above your big old garage on Temperance Street, just talking in the kitchen. Your Mom always had time to show her interest in all us kids who wandered through your house during countless jam sessions, and we were all welcome in your home. I can't recall that I ever saw her lose her temper, or raise her voice, but she sure had the "evil eye" when it was needed. I knew Glen Bell to be a great citizen for Waterford and in a word, she was "cool" - that being quite a compliment for a friend's Mom. And she raised two terrific kids. God bless her and you. With my love, Lawrence.

Alison & family: I just arrived home to find the announcement in the paper about your mother. I wish I had known sooner - I would have attended the visitation earlier tonight. My memories of your mother are more than fond -- she is responsible for nurturing my children's love of books. She always went the extra mile for everyone - taking the time to call and let us know if there was a book that she thought a child might enjoy. Her love of reading was passed on through her dedication to all library members and whenever I think of the Waterford Library, it is always with longing for that comfortable environment she created for all of us. She was a beautiful lady and will always be remembered with fondness and admiration. She truly left a legacy of book lovers with her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Joyce Suckel
