Obituary of Rudolph Pokonzo

POKONZO, Rudolph; It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rudy on Monday January 20, 2014 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 93rd year. Son of the late Harry and Eva Pokonzo. Loving husband of Shirley and daughter Wendy (and Press), grandson Jordan Lewis, sister Vicky McCallum, and brother Fred. Rudy also leaves nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews that he cherished. Predeceased by sister Betty Kerfoot, brothers Michael, William, and Edward. Born in Fort William Ontario 1921 and raised in the Waterford area where he farmed. He served 3 years in World War 2 (active), then returned to farming till 1992. While health reasons forced him to retire and move to Simcoe Rudy had many hobbies and his kind nature made many friends. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Friday 12pm until service time in the chapel at 2pm. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Juravanski Cancer Clinic, Norfolk General Hospital or charity of your choice.
