VARAO, Maria Alzira Borges; Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Norfolk General Hospital on Friday March 28, 2014, of Vanessa in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Varao. Loving mother of John C. (and Marg), Carmen, Eduarda (and Larry), Tony (and Donna). Cherished Vavo of Sandra (and Nelson), Robert (and Leanne), Jennifer, Cathy, Trisha (and Alex), Andy (and Laurah), Zak, and Viz Avo of Noah, Ava, Jaden, and Connor. Dear sister of Elvira, Sister Maria Do Carmo, Eduardo (and Deolinda). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Antonio and Jose. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish at 10am. Fr. Alan Dufraimont officiating. Parish prayers will be held Tuesday at 7:30pm. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or charity of your choice.
