Obituary of Janis Bannister

BANNISTER, Janis Elizabeth; Surrounded by the love of her family, Janis peacefully passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Tuesday August 14, 2012, of Vanessa in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Ross Bannister. Loving mother of Mark and Lori, Devon and Ralph Muth. Cherished Jannie of Wes (and Becky), Jill (and Nick); Mandy (and Jody), Missy, Chris, and great grandson Caleb. Janis spent countless hours volunteering with the youth at Sprucedale Correctional Facility, Teeterville Public School, and Bloomsburg Public School. Janis had a love for music and shared this passion with seniors at Heritage Lodge, Norfolk Hospital 4th Floor and Nursing Home, and Norview Lodge. Janis was a devoted member of Bloomsburg Baptist Church, playing the organ and leading the choir every Sunday for 45 plus years. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service in the chapel Friday at 1:30 pm. Rev. Andrew Emmott officiating assisted by Rev. Allan Burr.
