HALYK, Rose nee Dmytryshyn; Peacefully with the love of her family at Golden Pond, Waterford on Sunday April 20, 2014 in her 96th year. Born in Marlin Saskatchewan July 25, 1918. Daughter of the late Harry and Roberta Dmytryshyn. Loving wife of the late Jack Halyk. Much Beloved mother of James (and Jill), Patricia, and daughters-in-law Louise and Donna. Cherished Baba of 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by sons Paul, Bob, and Harold, daughter Linda (and Ken), Werner, grandson Mark, and son-in-law Allan Dixon. Rose was an active member at Ukrainian Orthodox St. Mary's in Waterford and enjoyed reading Promin. Rose and her husband Jack owned and operated a market garden and a local garage at Bill's Corners for many years. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Tuesday 7-9pm. Panachyda Tuesday at 7:30pm. A funeral Service will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 10am. Rt. Rev. Wasyl Makarenko of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Vladimir in Hamilton officiating, in which Rose was a member. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
