Obituary of Douglas Huffman

HUFFMAN, Douglas Welby; Surrounded by family, Doug passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at the Norfolk General Hospital in his 84th year of Waterford. Devoted husband for 59 years to Lorna (Jull). Loving father to Nancy & Karl Hankai and Rick & Kathy Huffman. Cherished grandpa to Damian Boyes and friend Julie, Brandon & Barb Boyes, Courtland Boyes, Amanda & Laurie Chalmers, Bradley Huffman and friend Miranda Grigor and several step grandchildren. Special great grandpa to Bryce Boyes and several step great grandchildren. Sadly missed by brother Clare & Mary Huffman, sister Cynthia Burroughs, sisters-in-law Edna Smith, Margaret & Leith Vincent & Marie Millar. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Archie & Muriel Huffman, brothers & sisters in law Jim & Jessie Jull, Frank & Betty Jull, Jim Millar, Thurman Smith and William Burroughs. Doug also suffered the loss of 5 children Janet, Bob, Archie, Patricia & Glenford. Doug Retired from Canada Wire and Cable in 1990. He was a life long resident of Norfolk County and was a member of the R.C.L. Branch 123 in Waterford. Doug enjoyed golf, socializing with family and friends and his daily morning coffee. Family and friends may call at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Legion Service Friday at 6:30pm. Service to be held in the chapel Saturday February 20 at 1pm. Rev. Robert Shaw officiating. Cremation will take place after service. In lieu of flowers donations would be greatly appreciated to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or Waterford Camp Trillium.
