Obituary of Mient Jilderda

JILDERDA, MIENT (September 18,1922-March 20,2009): Mient passed away peacefully, at dawn, surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of Yttje Robijn. Loving father of Tilly, Irene (Kjeld), Robin (Anna), Diane (Brad); loved pake of Kristen (Peter), Jake, Quinn, Jared, Dean, and Carl. Survived by his brother Myndert (Janke) in Friesland. Predeceased by his parents Feije and Tietje, his brother Jan (Hinke) and his sisters Akke (Evert) and Yke (Alle). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mient was born in Wouterswoude, Friesland. He and his wife Yttje immigrated to Canada in 1951 and settled in Wilsonville after his military service in Indonesia. Mient loved nature and had a lifelong quest for knowledge. The family wishes to thank Dr. N. Mohammed and also the staff at Hardy Terrace for the loving care they gave Mient. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT Funeral Home, Waterford, Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11 am. Rev. Ron Germain officiating.
