Obituary of Mervyn Young

YOUNG, Mervyn William; At the Norfolk General Hospital on Monday January 4, 2010 a resident of Waterford since 1950 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Graves) Young. Loving father of Brenda Castle-Young, Jennifer Young, Hilary (and Deborah) Young. Cherished grandfather of Stephen (Cherry), Greg (Pearl), Thomas, Sherri (Tom), Sean, Erin (Chris), Andrew (Ryoko), Sarah (Joe) and great grandfather of Candice, Chloe, Gavin, and JohnMark, Andrew, Mason, and Jaimie. Predeceased by son Rocklyn and brother Cecil Alfred. Mervyn was a Veteran of World War II. He was a teacher at Waterford District High School from 1950 until 1976. Mervyn was also active in the community as a Volunteer Firefighter for many years. Friends may call at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, Thursday, January 14th 2-5pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Friday January 15th at 2p.m. Rev. Adolph Hahn officiating. Legion Service will be held Thursday January 14th at 5pm. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
