Obituary of David Lockstein

LOCKSTEIN, David James; passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, in his 57th year, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was devoted husband of Kim Darlington for nearly 30 years, and beloved father of Kevin (Amber Sinnesael) and Katie Lockstein (Colin Graham). Dave is survived by his brother Ben (Judith) Lockstein of Tillsonburg and sister Emily (Tim) Proctor of Dorchester. Dave will be greatly missed by his in-laws, Lorraine Lockstein, Brenda & Tim Gilbert, Jo-Ann & Brian Voigt, and Scott & Shelley Darlington, as well as his nieces and nephews, Vanessa Lockstein, Mathias Voigt, T.J. Gilbert, Elisse & Rachel Proctor and Gillian & Ella Darlington, and also his therapy dogs, Sam & Ruby. Dave will join his parents, Ilse and Erwin, his brother Ed, and his mother and father-in-law, Adeline & Bill Darlington in heaven. Dave loved playing all sports. Although his first love was hockey, he also played competitive football, basketball and baseball. He will be fondly remembered by his fellow teammates and Dofasco coworkers. Special appreciation to the Nurses and PSW's at Oxford CCAC, the staff and volunteers at Bob Kemp Hospice, the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, and doctors Ford and Hirte for the loving care Dave received. Visitation at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford on Thursday, December 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 31. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bob Kemp Hospice (http://kemphospice.org/donations) or Norfolk General Hospital X-Ray Challenge, would be much appreciated by the family.
