RACE, Hazel B.; Peacefully, after a lengthy yet brave battle with Alzheimer's, Hazel passed away at Norfolk General Hospital Wednesday August 3, 2011. Beloved wife for 61 years to John W. Race. Loving mother of Philip (and Paula) Race. Cherished Grandma of Craig, Steve, and Julia. Dear sister of Paul (and Sandra) Hellyer. Predeceased by parents Audrey and Lulla Hellyer. A Family Graveside Service will take place at Waterford Greenwood Cemetery. To honour Hazel's love of music there will be a Musical Memorial Celebration at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Simcoe, Thursday September 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. Rev. Ian Shaw officiating. Memorial Donations to Alzheimer's Society of Haldimand-Norfolk or Norfolk General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
