I was in shock when I heard the news, few weeks after but she was just a sweet heart and still don't know the cause of death but I'm sure she is in heaven with her brother, where she belong.

I met Chris in grade 10, so, we've had many years to build memories, some good, some bad. 18 Wheeler, puddle jumping with the Lada, Allan Parson's, stealing ribbon, laying at the bottom of omph, bird killer, throwing Lanny's keys, driveway parties, getting grounded (again), bad 80's cloths, secrets, Florida, getting married, getting divorced, little white pig dog, stop staring at me Barney, moving on, growing apart, reconnecting...the memories resurface daily. My time with her family has made me feel like a sister and daughter. Why she had to go is a mystery. One we will not understand until we hopefully meet again. Each day brings tears, smiles and bewilderment. My heart goes out to Marleen, Grant, Aaron, Adam and Ryan and their families. We've lost someone very special.

Chris was a funny, caring, and loving person. We enjoyed her as a part of our family for many years and she will be very missed by both of us. One of the most memorable moments I have of Chris is when her and our Aunt Ellie took me to New York for my 16th birthday. Sara enjoyed the time she spent with Chris and Matza on those summer days when she would go to their house for a swim. We all have special memories of Chris and we will never forget the time we spent with her. Love always, Shannon & Sara

Beyond being a bandmate of mine, Chris was a good friend. The one thing I will always be grateful to her for was her advice and assistance in getting my father out the Simcoe hospital after he suffered a major stroke. She helped us in getting him into a stroke unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Toronto. In Simcoe the doctors pretty much wrote him off and didn't offer any help (except for a nursing home) but Chris showed us a way to get him transferred into the hospital in Toronto where he was rehabilitated so he could walk again and was able to return home for seven more years with us. That was Chris, she was a helpful, caring person.

I have many funny and entertaining memories of playing with Chris in our duo, (and later band), Janes Street. Chris was a talented musician, singer, and songwriter and I know she loved to sing and she could write great pop tunes. Her and I spent many weekends back in the late 90s touring around southern Ontario playing different venues and having a lot of laughs. The funniest time I'll always remember was playing at the Golf and Country Club in Kitchener. We had to play on a flat roof overlooking an outdoor patio and you could see all over the golf course from there. No one really paid any attention to us playing up there but we did the gig. One song we played was an Indigo Girls song called Closer to Fine. Chris would sing the lead and I sang backups. There is a line in the song that goes "I wrap my fear around me like a blanket" and Chris sang it wrong: "I wrap my rear around me like a blanket". For some reason that struck me as the funniest thing I ever heard. I started to laugh and couldn't play anymore and was actually rolling around on the floor laughing til the tears rolled down my face. Chris also stopped playing because she was laughing so hard. The best part was that no one on the patio even noticed. That was the way it was playing with Chris. We laughed alot. I miss her wicked sense of humour.

To the Elliott and Stein families : Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. When my late partner was ill it was a very kind and caring Chris that would show up at the hospital unsolicited. She came because she cared. On the golf course she and I would laugh the whole day. That is the Chris I will remember. May the sadness you feel now be replaced by only good memories of Chris.

I was so very sad to hear of Chris's passing and my heart goes out to all her family members. I know it has been a difficult time and I have thought of you all and Chris often throughout the years since her and I played music together. She was a beautiful and special person.
