So very sorry to read of Wanda's passing. I was just in Waterford in January for my mother's funeral. I went to school at Deer Park Public School with Wanda & also knew her brother, Wayne. Sending condolences to her family & friends. I know she will be sadly missed as she was such a friendly gal.
May she rest in peace, knowing how much she was loved by the people of Waterford.

I have many wonderful memories of Wanda. As a child...marching in the first Pumpkinfest parade with my Mom and Wanda, trick or treating at Ron and Wanda's and being happy to stay and visit for awhile instead of continuing on. As an adult...watching her line dance on the deck at my Mom and Dad's 35th wedding anniversary. Wanda was one of the most wonderful women that I had the privilege of knowing.
To the Goode and Walker families, please accept my most heartfelt condolences and know that my thoughts are with you during this most difficult time.

We are so sorry for your loss. Wanda was such a wonderful, happy, funny, energetic person. She was taken too soon but I have given up figuring out how the world works. Why such good people are taken too soon.

To Ron and to Carol,
It was an honor and a privilege to be there at Wanda's passing. To watch her drifting across sooo peacefully with the two most important people in her life sitting on either side of her holding her hand as she left was an amazing gift that I will cherish. Ron, reading all these condolences, it is obvious she was a very well loved, well thought of person in the community and I'm sure that makes you very proud and I hope it gives you comfort. Carol, what a wonderful sister! You've been by her side through out this whole journey helping in any way you could and I know she'd be proud of you. And I think you were right Carol watching that little smile grace her face after she had left us ... I think she had just met Elvis!

My deepest condolences to all the family on the loss of a very special lady. She always had a smile and I will truly miss it. I had the pleasure of spending some time with her at her chemo appointments as they were quite often at the same time as my dads, and those times we chatted will always be special to me. I had the privilege of kissing her goodbye at the last one.... I will miss you Wanda. Everyone will miss you Wanda! May I learn from your example how to be a woman of strength with a heart for others. I will be in Florida this weekend and therefore won't be able to attend your services, but you know where my heart is.

Hearing of Wanda’s passing gave me good reason to stop and reflect on just how fleeting life is. It further reminded me of what Wanda, a model citizen, brought to those around her in terms of a positive attitude throughout her life.
In my early years, our family lived at 11 College Street, Waterford, and was fortunate to have been close neighbours to the Walker family (Don, Dorothy, Wayne, Wanda and Carol) on Main Street North (and next to Don’s folks right next door). From my earliest memories, the Walker home was one where family and friends were always welcome to be part of everything from birthday parties (featuring Dorothy’s incomparable chocolate cakes) to various jam sessions (What’d I Say? immediately comes to mind) in the basement of their beautiful home. Those sessions included various band members and maybe, if I remember correctly, even Wanda’s grandpa, Asa, way back when. Those days are long gone but the memories linger. I can still see Wanda as being a central figure in ensuring that the atmosphere in the Walker home at any time was warm and upbeat. I honestly have no recollection of Wanda being less than happy and positive during those incredibly enjoyable early years.
Life takes us in different directions and, although I personally wandered a bit from my Waterford roots, I never felt like a stranger when I returned to visit at Main Street North, or later on, the south side of town. Being part of the Walker family throughout my entire life has given me a wealth of pleasure, great memories, and an appreciation for the kindness and generosity of Wanda and her family.
My thoughts are with Wanda’s brother, Wayne, her sister Carol, and husband Ron, along with all the extended family members and friends that she touched throughout her life. May she rest in eternal peace.

I would like to express my sincerest condolences to Wayne, Carol Ann and all of Wanda's family. I knew Wanda all through school and high school. She was always behind some event like the dances we all enjoyed for years at the Ukranian Hall in Waterford, where Wayne and his band played and many Waterford kids attended regularly. Those are memories we all cherish! Wanda was always involved with school reunions and worked tirelessly to bring it all together. She was a great friend to many and a very kind and passionate volunteer in her community all throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all. I feel honoured to have known her for so long.
