I have lived in Waterford a little over fifteen years. Since early during the time I've lived here on Nichol St., I remember Harry. He faithfully trudged wherever he needed to go here in town & although he'd been through so much in life, his attitude was always bright and positive.
He was never afraid to share in his own quiet way, what the Lord meant to him & was truly kind and gracious toward others. I'm sure living alone was not easy & when he moved to Golden Pond, I'd try to visit. He rested a lot and wasn't accustomed to so many people being about, so he often just wanted to savour what solitude he could.
In my heart, I know the Lord will wash away any tears or sorrow and bless him many times over but always know how incredibly special he was, what a testimony and example he was to others and especially what an inspiration. It's my prayer, that the Lord will bless him greatly, for though a little man, he had great courage. His love for his Maker & Lord was so evident in the way he lived. He was always grateful for what little he had, whether in health or in the love and caring of the few who truly demonstrated kindness and love toward him.
Worldly possessions seemed to have no real hold on him & although I believe he loved life, I don't believe he clung to it. He clung to his Maker & King instead and let his life speak of that faith, love and commitment, in as many ways akin to his nature that he could.
I will remember him for all he strove to be and for how incredibly special he truly was. May you always know, that he touched more lives than most ever will and that he is now whole, surrounded by love and beauty, and in the presence, not only of those who've gone before him but of the great, loving and almighty God he served humbly, gratefully and so well. Barb.

Sorry to hear of Harry' s passing. He has been a fixture of Waterford for most of his life - at the Post Office and afterward as the great walker- around the streets of Waterford and the roads of the county.
Keith Angus also sends his condolences from Belleville.
