AVEY, Maxine – With loving thoughts from her family Maxine passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday March 8, 2017 of Villa Nova at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Ross Avey. Loving mother of Sandra (and Gerald) Anderson, Tracy Wight, Shelley (and Laurence) Gashler, Lesley Avey (and Ken Jukes). Cherished grandma of Wade (and Lisa), Brock (and Carolyn), Dane (and Hillary), Kelly (and Josh), Brady (and Mickey), Tiffany Janelle (and Jake), Max (and Isabella), Brad, Jake, and great grandchildren Everett, Roman, and Aidan. Dear sister of Norma Dredge Travalle, Joy Geerts, Marion Osborne, Faye Litt. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Lucille Phillips and Vera Werchalaz. Maxine was employed as an R.N.A. at Norfolk General Hospital for 20 years. Friends may call at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Saturday March 18, 2017 from 12:30 until service time in the chapel at 1:30pm. Rev. Adolph Hahn officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
