Obituary of ALLAN ELGAR BROADLEY

BROADLEY, Allan Elgar – Surrounded in love by his family Allan passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at the age of 92. Loved husband of over 72 years to the late Eva Vince McKerlie. Loving father of Lynn and Elaine, Diane and Brian Holden, Cindy and the late Chuck Spearing. Proud Papa of Elizabeth and Blair Gunn, Kimberly Holden, Allan Spearing, and great grandchildren Ava, Lauren, Gavin, Lorelei, Alyvia and Colton. Will be missed by his nephews Brian and Paul Cross and their families. Predeceased by his sister Olive Reid. Allan was a successful businessman owning and operating an Imperial Oil Dealership and later Albro Sales. Allan was committed to the Waterford Community and dedicated many volunteer hours through Waterford Lions, and Wilson Lodge 123, and was on the founding committee of Tricenturena. Friends may be received at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford on Friday August 18, 2017 from 5-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday August 19, 2017 at 11am. Rev. Mary Jo Patterson officiating. Masonic Service will be held Friday at 4:30pm. Cremation to follow funeral service with a memorial graveside service at Mickle Memorial Cemetery, Gravenhurst at a later date. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to Camp Trillium Rainbow Lake or Waterford United Church.
