MASSELIS, Cecile – With her loving grandchildren by her side at Norfolk General Hospital on Sunday January 7, 2018 of Waterford at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Carlos. Loving mother of the late Geert Masselis and the late Caroline Nightingale. Cherished Meme of Billy (and Natalie) Nightingale, Carmina (and Carl) Halstead and great grandchildren Jaden, Jaiva, Maddex, Natalia, Sheldon, Lyla, and Eden. Loved mother-in-law of Bill Nightingale. Dear sister of Dina Vergougstraete (and the late Andre Dochy), Germain Verougstraete (and the late Paula Dobbelaere), and sister-in-law Solange Verougstraete. Predeceased by brother Firman Verougstraete, and sister Theresa Verougstraete (and Robert Derycke). Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium. Friends may be received at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Thursday January 11, 2018 from 2-4 with Parish Prayers at 3:30pm. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish Friday January 12, 2018 at 11am. Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
