Please share a memory of KAREN to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
KAUK, Karen Jeanette (MacDonald): Passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday March 9, 2020, of Waterford, at the age of 75. Beloved wife of the late James Kauk. Loving mother of Gregory (and Joan) Kauk, Janet (and Ken) Polderman, Angela (and Tim) Simon. Cherished grandmother of Kassidy (and Jeff), John, and Taylor. Dear sister of Keith (and Judy), Kenny (and Nicky), and Kathryn; sisters and brothers-in-law Otto (and Donna) Kauk, Linda (and Bob) Campbell, David (and Debbie) Kauk, Sharon (and Randy) Alting. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Mom had many loves in her life, but above all, her family was everything to her. Mom and dad went on many adventures, travelling throughout Canada and the United States as well as winters in Florida with the kids always in tow. An avid volunteer, mom was a lifelong member of the St. Williams Women’s Institute as well as the church. Following the loss of dad, she continued to pursue her love of travel as she journeyed all over the world, managing to visit every continent in her lifetime. She made lifelong friends wherever she went. Mom found joy in life and remained positive through many obstacles. She will be dearly missed by her family. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 16, 2020 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 155 Colborne St., Simcoe, at 11am. Pastor Dan Abraham officiating. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to the ALS Society or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. We would like to thank everyone who helped her on her final journey. To all her care workers from CCAC, Ontario March of Dimes, Stedman Outreach and the ALS Society – thank you. As with all her travels, many of you became friends that she spoke of fondly. We would also like to thank our many aunts and uncles who provided support to her and continue to provide support to us. Your help allowed her to live her life on her terms. Funeral arrangements entrusted with THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford.
